Dunelm posts 5.7% sales increase in trading update

Dunelm has reported a 5.7 per cent year-on-year increase in its latest trading update for the 13-week period ended December 29.

Total like-for-like revenue for the second quarter saw a 9.0 per cent growth.

Meanwhile, online revenue continued to increase in the quarter by 37.9 per cent.

The total revenue growth of the Dunelm business, including the benefit of changes to the store portfolio, was up by 9.6 per cent.

The group level growth was up by two per cent following the closure of its Worldstores and Kiddicare websites.

“The positive like-for-like revenue growth both in stores and online, highlights the strength of our customer offer,” Dunelm chief executive Nick Wilkinson said.

“Our multichannel proposition is improving all the time, and we are looking forward to introducing our new web platform in the summer, using more flexible technology which will allow us to better serve our customers in a changing retail landscape.”
