In an effort to get kids helping out their parents with the grocery shopping, Lidl has introduced “fun size” trolleys.

The German grocer trialled the trolleys at Oakham and Tooting stores last year which proved to be a success among children who loved rolling out the trolleys in stores.

Following the successful trial, the trolleys will be introduced in over 250 Lidl stores across the UK.

Lidl will supply stores included in the roll-out with a kids’ trolley bay with nine trolleys, each equipped with a lock and fun size flag.

“We’re constantly looking for new ways to make shopping more fun and engaging for kids,” Lidl UK commercial director Ryan McDonnell said.

“We’re keen to help parents build their children’s understanding of what they eat, and we hope that our new fun size Trolleys will encourage kids to play a bigger part in the family shop.”

Bravo Lidl, another great example of why they are successful. Other businesses are falling asleep at the wheel.
