Darren Topp has been reappointed to the role of chief executive at LK Bennett, according to Drapers.

Topp was initially LK Bennett chief executive from September 2016 until March last year.

He was reappointed after working with Rebecca Feng to buy the fashion retailer out of administration.

Feng, who runs LK Bennett’s Chinese franchises, acquired its UK, Ireland and wholesale business on 12 April through her newly incorporated company Byland UK.

Topp’s reappointment means Erica Vilkauls, who moved into the role after heading up womenswear retailer East, has now departed the business.

Topp previously headed up BHS until its collapse and he is currently a chairman for Retail Executives, a specialist fashion and retail recruitment firm.

Since buying it out of administration, Byland UK announced that a total of 21 LK Bennett stores in the UK are due to close down/

The store closures will result in around 110 job losses.

LK Bennett had 39 stores and almost 500 employees in the UK before it fell into administration in March.
