// Shirine Khoury-Haq replaces Ian Ellis who announced his retirement last year
The Co-op has hired Shirine Khoury-Haq to take on the role of chief financial officer.
Starting in summer, she will replace Ian Ellis who announced his retirement late last year.
She will also become a member of both the Co-op’s executive team and non-executive board.
A certified accountant, Khoury-Haq was most recently chief operating officer for Lloyds of London. She resigned last November.
She has also worked for McDonald’s, IBM, and insurance firm Catlin.
She has also served as a non-executive director with the Post Office.
Meanwhile, Ellis had been the Co-op’s finance boss since March 2015.
He made the move from Wilko, and was also previously head of finance at supermarket giant Morrisons and worked for Northern Foods.
