Selfridges has revealed that it will open a cinema at its London flagship store this November as part of its customer experience innovation drive.

The Selfridges Cinema will be open all year and will screen blockbuster movies as well as independent films.

Visitors will be able to access it directly from the street but there will also be an entrance in-store.

The luxury department store aims to increase footfall and dwell time in-store with this new initiative.

The new cinema is in partnership with independent cinema Olympic Studios.

Selfridges shoppers will get a three-screen “world class” cinema as well as “world class” sound technology.

There will also be a priority membership scheme.

Selfridges managing director Simon Forster described the initiative as “a very exciting yet natural extension to what Selfridges does, which is to provide customers with an extraordinary experience all year round”.
