Central England Co-op rolls out Christmas early

// Central England Co-op begins selling mince pies early following consumer demand
// The move is similar to John Lewis which opened its Christmas shop at the start of the month

Central England Co-op has brought forward the date for selling mince pies in its stores.

The retailer has rolled out the products following customer enquiries in-store and via social media on when the festive snacks would hit the shelves.

Central England Co-op usually stocks mince pies at the end of September, rather than now.

Central England Co-op store manager Natalie Smith said: “For months now our colleagues have been inundated with requests for when our Christmas products will be on sale, especially mince pies.

“While we know that hearing about anything festive related this early is not for everyone, for some they cannot wait so we have decided to give people what they wanted and put them on sale early.

“I have no doubt that mince pies and anything else Christmas related will fly off the shelves now that it is available, especially during these uncertain times when people need and deserve a boost.”

The news comes after John Lewis opened its Christmas shop early after online festive searches reached a record high in August.
