Home improvement and DIY retailer B&Q has opened its latest ‘shop within shop’ concession in Asda Lancaster.

The new compact B&Q store sits inside the Asda Lancaster store and is the sixth Asda concession store, following successful launches in Thurmaston, Edmonton, Roehampton, Sheffield and Dagenham.

Customers can also place an order from B&Q’s full range via diy.com for either home delivery or click and collect.

The Lancaster store is the first of three more new concession stores to be launched with Asda supermarkets this year, and will offer a range of paint as well as tools, hardware and other DIY essentials.

“We’re delighted to be opening the new B&Q concession store within Asda Lancaster,” said Jamie Bunting, B&Q’s regional manager.

“We recognise that the way customers shop is always changing, and this is just one way we want to make lives of our customers easier and able to access materials and equipment closer to their homes.”

Zara Hunter, store manager at Asda Lancaster said she was “delighted” to have been chosen to host one of the new compact B&Q stores.

“Asda customers will be able to access a range of B&Q’s essential home improvement products and expert advice alongside their regular shop,” she added.

“[This is] part of a wider investment that will bring a broader range of great value products and services to our store.”
