Is it really necessary for Next to open even in Scotland on a Sunday. Very unfair on workers with the added stress of covid walking in to the store for a mingle and dingle!

Agree with another comment. Next are gradually closing stores on lease expiry and recent examples include one store in Milton Keynes, another in Swansea and one in Chichester City Centre.

They have already cut their store network by at least 30 stores over the last couple of years or more.

I expect more to shut as online saves them. Their clothing leaves a lot to be desired these days and is no better than M and S. Certainly not the cool or hip Next that was created in the early 1980’s with made in Italy and UK which it was then. Shame. Won’t be shopping at Next and I’m still trying to shed gained weight from the first 3 lockdown’s which is a slow and gradual processsssssssssssss! lol

What people don’t realise with Next is they are constantly saved by their online division. In-store sales for Next have been on a serious decline well before the pandemic and hid and blinded people with there online sales success to mask there stores decline. Wouldn’t surprise in the new year ( if they haven’t already) that Next close a load of stores on the quiet and report double figure percentages downs on brick & mortar with e-commerce up double figures as per and blame on a haulage problem along with covid obviously.

As Boxing day falls on a Sunday.

They really should review the Sunday trading laws. Why is it Scotland does not have any and in England and Wales we are limited to 6 hours so out of date. At least allow them to open say 10am to 6 pm and no restrictions from late November to early December !
