M&S to give staff additional day off to mark Queen’s Jubilee

Marks & Spencer is mulling the prospect of leaving or radically downsizing its central London head office, Retail Week has reported.

Marks & Spencer has given its staff an additional day of holiday to mark the celebration of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

This year there will be a four-day Jubilee bank holiday weekend running from 2 to 5 June.

While M&S stores will remain open across the bumper weekend, all stores, distribution centre and customer service colleagues will be given an additional day of holiday to use across any of the four days.

“Everyone at M&S is looking forward to celebrating this historic national occasion in just a few months’ time,” M&S stores director, Helen Milford said.

“To help our colleagues celebrate, we’re pleased to be giving them an additional day of holiday to use over the Jubilee weekend. We hope they enjoy the celebrations.”
