Burberry has poached Kingfisher sustainability director Caroline Laurie, as its new vice-president for corporate responsibility.

Laurie was responsible for building B&Q owner Kingfisher’s sustainability strategy over eight years.

She also held roles at B&Q, starting out as a buyer and working her way up to business development manager.

In her new role, Laurie will be responsible for integrating Burberry’s sustainability incentives, targets and KPIs, Retail Week reported.

Burberry plans to complete its first five-year corporate responsibility plan this year, which includes cutting its market-based emissions by 92% since 2016.

It has also set out plans to be carbon neutral across its own operations and use 100% renewable electricity by the end of this year.
