Mango is ramping up its presence in the UK with the opening of three major new stores this Autumn.

The Spanish fashion retailer is opening a new 300 sq. m store at London’s new Battersea Power Station shopping centre from tomorrow when the iconic destination reopens.

The store will be one of the first in the UK to feature Mango’s Mediterranean-inspired concept, influenced by Mediterranean culture and style, aiming to reflect the “spirit and freshness” of the business.

The retailer has also just opened the doors to its store at Bluewater in Kent and the third of the new stores will open in Newcastle’s Eldon Square shopping centre next month.

Mango Global Expansion Director Daniel Lopez said: “The opening of these three stores is part of the expansion plan we are promoting to consolidate our brand in the country and a step forward in our strategic goals for international expansion and our distribution ecosystem.

“The UK is a key market for Mango and one of the most important for the fashion industry in the world, and we want Mango to have a significant presence in it.”

The openings bring Mango’s total to almost 50 UK stores by the end of this year, combining its presence in shopping centres with standalone stores and concessions in department stores.

Last year it opened a new flagship on London’s Oxford Street, and three other stores in Manchester, Edinburgh and Derby

It also opened nine concessions with John Lewis across the UK, 10 wholesale concessions with Shaws in Ireland and four wholesale concessions in London with Morleys Brixton. This year it also opened in Glasgow Fort shopping centre.

Very surprised they chose the declining Eldon Square shopping centre over the Metrocentre.
