Currys staff have joined M&S Romford in the race for Christmas number one with the release of its festive drill track.

‘Merry Techmas’, which has been released on the retailer’s TikTok channel, will raise money for a digital poverty charity to help families that lack access to basic tech devices.

Currys business customer manager Raphael Barnett, who is also a talented rapper that goes by the stage name of Raphael 3Style, penned and performed the track which makes several references to the range of products available from the retailer.

The backing track was made using sounds from every day appliances including ‘beeps’ from a microwave, sounds from a washing machine and the tap of a laptop keyboard.

“What an amazing talent he is and hats off to the Staples Corner colleagues who went all in with their involvement in the TikTok video.

“With 11,000 people in our stores right up and down the country, this is just the beginning of us going behind the scenes to harness the voices and talents of our brilliant colleagues.”
