Currys has ditched Royal Mail as a delivery provider in the wake of the pre-Christmas postal strikes, which threaten to derail festive deliveries.
The electricals retailer’s boss Alex Baldock suggested it was only a temporary move as he told BBC’s Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg show it was just “for now”.
Currys’ decision, first reported by The Telegraph, creates upheaval at the busiest time of the year for the business.

However, it is thought that other retailers are set to follow suit amid a string of strikes throughout the peak period.
Most large retailers have contracts with several logistics firms and it is thought those that use the Royal Mail have shifted demand to other partners to minimise disruption.
However, Currys has opted for the tougher move of ditching Royal Mail altogether in the short term.
The Royal Mail is facing strikes on 9, 11, 14 and 15 December, which has forced it to bring forward its final Christmas posting dates by as much as a week.
