Greggs is offering pronoun badges for its employees after facing increased demand.

The bakery chain is allowing workers to add their preferred pronouns, such as she/her/hers, he/him/his or they/them/theirs to their name badges.

Greggs first introduced the voluntary badges this summer, after they were demanded by employees through its internal “Your Ideas Matter” programme.

Employees are now able to order custom-made badges to the store they work at in line with their preferred name, gender identity and pronouns.

Greggs has promised to “reflect the communities we serve” by 2025 as part of its “Greggs Pledge” and its LGBT network.

The company is trading well despite the cost-of-living crisis. Greggs said in October that it traded well in its latest quarter, putting it on track to meet full-year expectations.
