M&Co redundancies continue as CFO exits

// Following its collapse into administration, more senior staff at M&Co have left the business
// Chief financial officer Iain Scott has left the business

Multiple senior staff members at M&Co have left the business following its collapse into administration in December, Drapers has reported.

Chief financial officer Iain Scott, who had been at the retailer since 2020 has left the business while M&Co head of marketing Gerard Gavan has also exited the company in what is thought to be a wider second round of redundancies last week, hitting the sales and marketing teams at the retailer’s Glasgow headquarters.

Drapers also reported that both the buying and merchandising teams at the London office have also been impacted by recent job cuts.

One employee at the group said on social media: “Sadly M&Co went into administration before Christmas. As of last week more of our London teams (buying and merchandising) alongside our Scottish office team colleagues were made redundant.”

The news comes after the retailer’s collapse in administration back in December, where up to 35 staff members at its head office in Scotland were made redundant, including employees in its marketing department, IT department and production studios.
