// M&S trials premium paid-for loyalty tier Sparks Plus
// The “VIP treatment”, which costs £120 for 12 months, includes unlimited delivery, a monthly £10 voucher and free hot drink

M&S is trialing a premium paid-for loyalty tier, Sparks Plus, and is encouraging shoppers to sign up to receive “VIP treatment”.

Selected Sparks members have been invited to join the new tier, which requires an upfront fee of £120 for 12 months.

The new subscription service offers members perks worth over £200 on top of existing Sparks benefits.

M&S Sparks Plus

The Sparks Plus membership includes a monthly £10 voucher, unlimited next-day delivery, and a free monthly hot drink from any M&S cafés.

Members will also receive a special gift, invites to store events, double charity donations and more exclusive benefits.

This is not the only addition to the Sparks loyalty scheme M&S has launched in recent months. It unveiled Sparks Pay in October last year, which allows users to borrow up to £500 for their shopping.

So, basically I’m paying them £120 to get my money back at £10 a month which can only be spent at M&S? Is the “free” monthly cup of coffee their idea of a good return on my investment?
