Yours Clothing has swooped to buy Scottish retailer M&Co from administration for an undisclosed sum.

The owner of plus size retailer Yours Clothing, AK Retail Holdings has bought the brand and intellectual property of M&Co.

AK Retail Holdings also owns menswear line BadRhino, Long Tall Sally and Bump It Up Maternity.

M&Co fell into administration in December after facing rising costs and appointed advisers from Teneo Financial Advisory.

The value fashion retailer has around 180 UK stores.

Several senior staff members at M&Co, including the chief financial officer, left the business in November due to a wave of redundancies.

At the time of administration, the retailer had 170 stores across the UK and employed 1,910 staff.

Last month, multiple senior staff members at M&Co left the business.

Chief financial officer Iain Scott, who had been at the retailer since 2020 left the business while head of marketing Gerard Gavan also exited.

    All the stores are closing all the staff loosing their jobs all the premises will be an empty hole in towns around the country
