// Wilko has extended its contract with GXO, as part of its commitment to its omnichannel transformation
// The retailer is seeking to increase its online sales under its turnaround strategy
Wilko has extended its contract with GXO until June 2026.
The move comes as part of the retailer’s omnichannel transformation strategy, focusing on giving shoppers more convenient ways to shop across all its channels.
The company is seeking to increase its online sales as part of its turnaround strategy under its omnichannel transformation plan.
Wilko digital and marketing director Ben Exall said: “The GXO work has been key to the acceleration of Wilko’s omnichannel transformation and that’s why we’re delighted to extend our contract with the business until 2026.
“This contract extension accompanies a raft of recent announcements. Investing in improving our customer experience both digitally and in-store is at the heart of our turnaround strategy”.
Wilko launched its click-and-collect service back in February, which now accounts for 42% of its online orders.

The news comes as the business is exploring a CVA to secure reduced rents from its landlords.
It is thought it is not seeking to close stores as part of the potential CVA.
Wilko secured a £40m funding lifeline from Hilco UK earlier this year. It is seeking to turnaround the business and hired distressed specialist Mark Jackson as its CEO.

Wilko need to have stock first, go into any of their store’s shelves are empty.
The shelves can’t be that empty if 42% of online orders are coming from click and collect, that shows that the stock is actually there in store to fulfil orders.
They will go soon same as woolies too much online competition from cheaper retailers unfortunately try to go to up market and lost there valued customers
Maybe stop making comments that are totally wrong and for your information woollies is still a fully functioning Business…
No point in pursuing an omnichannel strategy if you don’t have stock on the shelves,
Omnichannel is nothing to do with what’s in stores, online orders from the website, eBay etc all come from a separate distribution centre/supplier.
This is true, all my local wilko stores are shocking, literally nothing but gaping big gaps, looks awful, certainly puts people off coming back, other big discounters out there to soon take your cash over Wilkos… don’t think it will be long now till we see this well known company vanish. Shame as used to be my go to store before the dominance of other discounters nearby
I work for Wilko and can honestly say there is the air of the inevitable. Shelves empty and stock being faced over to make it appear full/less bad then they appear.
Wilco
Selling plants that are not as advertised,
Will not do anything about it,
Parroting about 28 day return.
The plants take about 4 months to grow and flower.
Till that time i do not know what they are.
They cost £2.50 each which is a good price.
I do not want a refund, i would like the plants.(5)
I did not keep recipes just plant labels.
Does anyone know who the Dutch bulb supplier to Wilco is.?
