H&M Group is planning to “gradually reopen” the majority of its stores in Ukraine from November.

The group temporarily shut its Ukraine stores in February 2022 after Russia’s invasion.

The company website reads: “As H&M Group continues to monitor developments in the country, preparations are being made to reopen the majority of the H&M stores where possible.

“The safety of colleagues and customers will always be the first and foremost priority.”

H&M Group explained it was in contact with local stakeholders to determine “how to best support the country and local communities” as they sought to rebuild.

Last year, the company said it had eight H&M stores based in Ukraine as of November 2021, according to Reuters.

The business, which is home to fashion brands such as Weekday, Cos, Arket, and Monki, also exited Russia after its invasion of Ukraine and looked for new markets, such as Latin America, to plug the revenue gap.
