Lego is set to open its second store in Manchester this winter as part of its ongoing retail expansion across the country.

The 267sqm space, located inside the Trafford Centre, will feature the toy retailer’s extensive product range, a Pick a Brick wall and Build a Minifigure station.

It will also host several in-store events each month, including the retailer’s popular free build challenges.

The new store will become Lego’s 19th store in the UK and follows the retailer’s recent opening inside the renovated Battersea Power Station.

Members of Lego Insiders – the firm’s newly launched loyalty scheme – will receive benefits to celebrate the new store, including exclusive gifts with purchase and double points at events.

Director of EMEA and regional retail marketing Amy Pearson said: “We’ve been searching for the perfect location to open a second store in Greater Manchester and are thrilled to have found this within Trafford Centre.

“The new Lego store will allow builders of all ages to be inspired by the endless play opportunities Lego has to offer.

“This store will be a top retail destination for product launches and events, while acting as a hub for our tenured Lego community and new builders alike, welcoming them to an exciting journey of discovery with the Lego universe.”

The toy retailer revealed on Monday it was launching a global treasure hunt for its Insiders members, where participants can win a host of prizes including up to £7,000 in cash.
