Sweaty Betty has posted a loss of £5.1m for the year ending January 2023, marking a decline from the nearly £14m profit recorded the previous year.

Last year, Sweaty Betty chief executive Julia Straus and chief operating officer Mark Smith exited following the sale.

In June, former Jo Malone exec Melissa Mullen then joined the retailer as its new global brand president.

Following its acquisition by Wolverine, the business said that its performance was impacted by the reorganisation of its North American wholesale operations, adding the underlying performance was only “slightly lower” than in 2021, reflecting the broader economic and sociopolitical environment.
