Tesco unveils first double Clubcard points event in a decade

Tesco is offering customers double Clubcard points every time they shop with the supermarket for the next seven weeks until 25 February.

Loyalty scheme members will earn double points when scanning their Clubcard while shopping in store, online, filling up at Tesco petrol stations, or visiting one of the supermarket’s cafés.

According to the retail giant, 10bn Clubcard points are expected to be collected across the event, benefitting more than 20m members.

It is the first time the supermarket has offered its double points event in over a decade.

Shoppers will receive their vouchers in their next two Clubcard statements – either in February or May – or can opt to redeem them instantly with the faster vouchers service on the supermarket’s Grocery and Clubcard app or online.

Tesco chief commercial officer Ashwin Prasad said: “Many of us could do with a little boost in January so we are delighted to bring over 20 million Clubcard members the added joy of double points for the next seven weeks. It’s the best value at Tesco with some extra on top!

“Whether you want to save up your Clubcard points to use towards a special moment like a holiday or simply for money off your shopping or fuel, it’s our extra thank you to Tesco Clubcard members for shopping with us.”

In November, Tesco partnered with Evri to allow shoppers to collect Clubcard points for every parcel sent with the delivery firm.
