The billionaire family behind Primark and Fortnum & Mason have retained their spot as one of the richest names in UK retail despite offloading some of their top assets.
Guy, George, Alannah and Galen Weston have a combined wealth of £14.493bn, securing ninth place on The Sunday Times Rich List 2024.
The Primark owners slipped two spots this year from the seventh richest family in 2023, with a wealth of £14.5bn.
The demotion comes as the family sold off Selfridges in 2021, whose £4bn sale price far exceeded the £598m price tag for its UK stores in 2003. The Westons received more than £580m of dividends during their final decade of ownership of the luxury department store.
