Russell & Bromley unveils first new concept ‘neighbourhood’ store

Russell & Bromley has launched the first of its new concept “neighbourhood stores in Hampstead, London, in collaboration with its design partner, Shed.

The concept store is designed to “fit seamlessly into the local village aesthetic”, according to the footwear retailer.

Originally comprising two separate shopfronts, the stores have been merged into one, while maintaining the historic feel of the building.

The shop opening is thought to be the first of various Russell & Bromley stores set to launch across the capital’s “villages” over the next few years.

Russell & Bromley head of estates George Williamson said: “The launch of this new Hampstead store is an exciting milestone for the Russell & Bromley brand. The unique, conceptual design of the store created by Shed, reflects a new blueprint for how the brand will now be conveyed.

“This is particularly important as we plan for further UK expansion and overseas growth, knowing that design will play a crucial role in how our brand is perceived and embraced in new communities.”

In July, a shift in shopping habits towards more local shops forced Russell & Bromley to rethink its retail strategy, as it began targeting affluent suburbs across London and elsewhere.
