Clarks is keeping its school shoes at 2023 prices while reducing the price of a third of its new back to school collection in a bid to help families amid the rising cost of living.

The footwear giant is also offering a ‘buy together save together’ bundle, where parents can get £10 off a pair of children’s trainers when they buy black kids school shoes.

Alongside this, Clarks is offering a ‘fit guarantee’ where if kids outgrow their school shoes within three months of their in-store fitting, they can come and exchange them for a new pair, free of charge.

Last month the business kicked off its summer sale, offering shoppers up to 60% on selected footwear styles.

It comes as Clarks plunged to a pre-tax loss of £39.8m in the year to 31 December, down from a profit of £35.9m the year before, as sales edged up 1.4% to £994.5m.

The busines is looking to cut more than 150 jobs amid weakened consumer demand and rising costs.
