Evri is set to be sold to private equity firm Apollo for £2.7bn, after being offloaded by its owner Advent International.
The sale is expected to complete during the first quarter of 2024, according to Advent.
Since purchasing Evri in 2020, the asset management company has invested almost £200m into the parcel delivery service, which has reportedly tripled in size over the last five years.
Evri CEO Martijn de Lange said: “The last five years have seen transformative change in our proposition which has allowed us to take full advantage of the positive trends in our markets.
“With the support of Advent, the business today is in a strong position and momentum is encouraging. We are very excited to be partnering with Apollo and optimistic for what the future holds.”
Earlier this month, China’s biggest online retailer JD.com was said to be in talks about a potential bid for the delivery company.
Evri, formerly known as Hermes, drafted in advisers earlier this year to explore its options, which included the potential sale of the business.
