Waitrose has renewed its partnership with commerce platform Flooid for another five years, as it secures a new point of sale (POS) technology deal.

The move comes after Waitrose and Flooid have been working together for the last 20 years, the Retail Technology Innovation Hub reported.

Flooid CEO (EMEA, APAC) Martyn Osborne said: “For more than 20 years, we have supported Waitrose with trusted Point of Sale technology, and we remain committed to delivering the high performing, flexible and resilient platform needed to enable great shopping experiences for their customers.”

In December, Flooid owner Glory Global Solutions reported that the supermarket had selected the business’s CI-100X solution to streamline and improve its back office cash management process in its stores throughout the UK.

Glory is currently installing 285 CI-100X back office cash recycling devices across Waitrose’s stores, with the launch underway.

Glory senior vice president EMEA, managing director UK and Ireland Mark McCallum said: “We are very much looking forward to working closely with Waitrose as we install our CI-100X devices across their back office UK store network.

“The CI-100X will also be fully integrated with our Flooid1 cash office software solution.”

He added: “Waitrose is one of the most well known and loved retailers in the UK and we are hugely excited to play a part in helping to support their continued success.”
