Morrisons is cutting the price of vegetables used in a traditional Christmas dinner to 10p to allow all customers to enjoy a roast on 25 December.
Morrisons More Card holders will be able to pick-up 1kg carrots, 500g parsnips, 500g Brussel sprouts and a British whole swede for 10p each from 18 December until 24 December.
Shoppers will be also able to purchase 2kg of potatoes for half-price, £1.15, until 1 January.
The supermarket’s category director of produce and horticulture Fraser Lovatt said: “No Christmas dinner is complete without all the trimmings of the seasonal vegetables.
“By cutting the costs of products like carrots, parsnips, sprouts and potatoes, we are helping customers get all they need for the perfect festive roast without breaking the bank.”
He added: “Selling more of these products also stops them from going to waste and enables us to give more back to our important network of British farmers.”
The move comes as Asda revealed it was bringing back its 15p festive veg sale last week as it geared up for the big day.
From 19 December until 24 December, the grocer’s shoppers will be able to purchase 1kg carrots (currently 69p), 500g sprouts (currently 85p), 360g broccoli (currently 79p) and 500g parsnips (currently 75p) for 15p each instore and online.
