The Range has confirmed the second set of its new-format store openings located in former Homebase units.
The discount chain, which snapped up the DIY giant’s brand and up to 70 stores in November, will unveil the new shops in Newton Abbot, Felixstowe and Blyth on 24 January.
The branches will include The Range’s full product ranges, alongside its ‘Garden Centres by Homebase’ concept,
It follows the first set of rebranded locations in Pollokshaws, Glasgow; Christchurch, Bournemouth; and Kings Heath, Birmingham, which are set to open the week before on 17 January.
The openings form part of The Range owner CDS Superstores’ plans to roll out 10 new superstores per month as it looks to convert up to 70 Homebase locations, creating 1,600 jobs throughout the year.
CDS group chief executive Alex Simpkin said: “We’re fully committed to retaining the best of Homebase’s heritage while introducing the broader product range and value that customers expect from us as The Range.
“While those Homebase stores acquired by CDS will continue to trade as they are during the transition period, we’re focused on ensuring a seamless transfer of these locations into our new store format, with six launches now confirmed for January 2025 already.
“We’re also eager to help consumers nationwide by investing in the Homebase brand with the relaunch of www.homebase.co.uk, and expect to have this platform live to support families in all of their home improvement endeavours very soon.”
