Outdoor retailer Mountain Warehouse saw record sales in its latest annual results, boosted by store openings and relocations.
The firm reported pre-tax profits of £33m during the 52 weeks to 23 February, rising 26% year on year from £26.2m.
Revenues soared 16.4% year on year, hitting a record high of £450m over the period.
In-store sales were up 19.1% year on year, aided by 65 new store openings, which included 17 relocations.
The new sites consisted of 27 UK stores, while 12 of the 17 relocations were in the UK.
Mountain Warehouse said its ecommerce arm accounted for nearly a third of its total sales. The business is pushing ahead with its expansion during the 2026 financial year, with 50 new openings and relocations targeted throughout the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Poland and Canada.
The brand’s UK focus has moved towards launching larger stores and sites in retail parks, which are able to stock a greater range of products.
Mountain Warehouse CEO Mark Neale said: “I’m proud of the team for delivering another set of record results, despite the challenging retail environment.
“The strong pipeline of new, larger stores that we have both in the UK and international markets means that we should be knocking on the door of £500m revenue in the current year.
“And I actually think we have more opportunities for growth now than at any point I can remember, both in the UK and elsewhere, in stores and online.”
Last year, Mountain Warehouse launched its first stores in Australia, as its sales surged to a record high of £386m in its year to February 25.
