Debenhams Group has appointed Tom Handley as a new non-executive director as part of a board reshuffle.

Handley currently serves as a director of legal services Provenio Law. He previously worked as CEO for legal firm Exchange Chambers from 1992 to 2020.

Under his new role, he will serve on the company’s audit and risk, remuneration, and nomination committees.

Additionally, Debenhams Group confirmed that Alistair McGeorge had departed as a non-executive director.

McGeorge joined the board in March 2023, and served as both senior independent director and independent non-executive director. He also sat as deputy chairman until November 2024.

Non-executive director John Goold is set to take on the position of senior independent director after his departure.

Debenhams Group CEO Dan Finley said: “We extend our sincere thanks to Alistair for his service to Debenhams Group over the past few years. On behalf of everyone at Debenhams, we wish him every success for the future.

“At the same time, we are very pleased to welcome Tom to the board, and we look forward to benefiting from his considerable expertise.”
