Sportswear brand Nike has launched Nike Sport Research Lab (NSRL) form to its London Oxford Circus store.

The service brings together scientists, technologists, engineers, designers and developers around the mission of helping athletes of all levels and abilities to achieve their sport goals.

The assessment comprises a face-to-face, head-to-toe running consultation which is designed to unlock the body’s full potential.

It combines the biomechanics expertise of the NSRL with the latest marker-less motion capture technology to track 1.6m data points across the six core running metrics – slide, roll, cross, bounce, lean and reach.

Using machine learning, NSRL form captures athletes’ unique full-body movement profiles to highlight opportunities for improvement and make personalised recommendations on running form.

Nike principal sport scientist in the NSRL Blaise Williams said: “We’re empowering athletes through information to make decisions based on how they move, regardless of the shoe they wear or even the sport they play.

“NSRL form isn’t just a runner’s tool, it’s designed to study your whole body and give you the power to know yourself better as an athlete.”

The company’s Oxford Circus store is one of the first worldwide to feature the service for athletes.

Nike opened its three‑floor “temporary flagship” on Oxford Circus earlier this year, as its historic NikeTown London undergoes a multi‑year transformation until 2027.

Based just steps from NikeTown, the space offers a curated mix of the best of the global sportswear retailer.
