Department store chain John Lewis has appointed Anna Milne as its director of merchandising, a new role that will be part of its management board.
Milne has nearly 20 years of experience in retail, “curating exceptional product ranges”, said the business. She brings extensive knowledge of the fashion industry by having worked in merchandising roles at fashion brands House of Fraser, ASOS, Jules B and The Outnet.
Most recently, she has been the merchandising director for the luxury lifestyle brands Net-a-Porter and Mr Porter.
“Having grown up in Newcastle with John Lewis as a cornerstone of the high street, this feels like a full circle moment,” said Milne.
“I am delighted to take on this role within a Partnership that places people and community at its heart while delivering commercial excellence.”
Milne will join the Partnership on 17 November and report to chief commercial officer Vikki Kavanagh, who said: “Anna will be a fantastic addition to our team, bringing a wealth of experience to the role, and her leadership will be crucial for ensuring that our shops are fully stocked with a fantastic assortment of inspiring products.”
