Department store John Lewis has partnered with Russell & Bromley to debut a new supplier brands platform, designed to accelerate the launch of new brands.
The platform has been introduced as the business increases its focus on premium brands, and enables it to accelerate the listing and sales of new brands for its digital presence.
Powered by tech company Mirakl, the platform is a direct shipping model which reduces the time it takes to bring new goods to market.
The platform comes as the retailer seeks to elevate its fashion offer via the launch of premium labels.
John Lewis director of fashion Rachel Morgans said: “Our ambition is to be the definitive home for premium brands in the UK.
“This new platform is a huge step on that journey, giving us the agility to bring newness to our customers at speed.”
She added: “The launch of Russell & Bromley is the perfect example of this strategy in action and demonstrates the calibre of brands we are attracting.”
John Lewis added 100 new premium fashion brands to its stores in August, in a bid to strengthen its clothing offer against rivals Next and M&S.
The additions included collections from high-end labels such as Mulberry, as well as brands like Akyn, By Malene Birger and Iro.
