Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW) has secured five new food and beverage signings at Westfield Stratford City, as it expands the centre’s dining and leisure offer.

The property giant will see Gail’s, Bill’s, Berberè, Yakiniku Like and Soul Mama open along The Street, creating a clearer dining zone designed to bolster the destination’s day-to-night appeal.

Both Berberè and Yakiniku Like will both open in December 2025, while Gail’s, Bill’s and Soul Mama are set to follow during 2026.

Gail’s will open a 3,100 sq ft bakery early next year, offering fresh bread, pastries and speciality coffee to shoppers and local residents. Berberè will bring its Italian sourdough pizzas to East London for the first time, with a 2,597 sq ft site opening in early December.

The lettings form part of URW’s wider strategy to grow its food and beverage footprint across its UK portfolio, reflecting consumer demand for more immersive, experience led retail environments.

According to Westfield’s How We Shop report, 47% of UK consumers now actively seek entertainment-driven experiences when visiting retail destinations.

Yakiniku Like, the Japanese barbecue restaurant, will open on 19 December, introducing its interactive, smokeless grill dining format across a 1,995 sq ft space.

In 2026, Bill’s will launch its 5,371 sq ft restaurant, the brand’s largest in more than a decade, further building Stratford City’s casual dining mix.

Completing the line-up Soul Mama, co-founded by YolanDa Brown OBE DL and Adetokunbo “T” Oyelola, will open in Spring 2026, combining food inspired by African, Caribbean and South American cuisines with live music and comedy.

The new additions join established operators including Wahaca, Wagamama, The Real Greek and Franco Manca.

“Westfield Stratford City continues to evolve as one of London’s leading destinations for F&B, retail and leisure, reflecting the diverse tastes of the local community,” said URW director of leasing for Northern Europe Constantin Wiesmann.

“Food and beverage is no longer just an amenity, it drives footfall, dwell time and overall experience. This wave of signings reinforces Westfield Stratford City as a destination to eat, meet, and spend time, showcasing the strength of our strategy in attracting experience-led operators.”

Gails managing director Nick Ayerst added: “We’re delighted to be opening at Westfield Stratford City, a destination that sits at the heart of one of London’s most diverse and vibrant communities.

“At Gail’s, we believe that high-quality food should be accessible and we’re proud to share our freshly baked, nutrient-dense goods with the shoppers at Westfield. Stratford has a brilliant energy and we’re looking forward to becoming part of it.”

Bill’s managing director Tom James said: “Westfield Stratford is a location we have been following for a while, especially as we have a restaurant in their White City location and the plans for the future there are very exciting.”
