Aldi is launching five new shops in 24 hours ahead of the Christmas shopping period.
The German discounter, which recently named Will Barstow as its new national buying managing director, is planning to launch new sites in Uxbridge, London’s Old Kent Road, Northallerton and Pershore tomorrow (11 December).
Aldi is also gearing up to open its fifth shop in Yate, Bristol, on 12 December.
The five new stores are set to create around 200 new jobs within the local communities.
The move comes after the supermarket recently announced plans to open 16 new stores ahead of Christmas.
Aldi UK real estate managing director Jon Neale said: “Opening any new store is exciting, but opening five in 24 hours, just before Christmas, will make a huge difference for customers in each of these areas.
“It reflects the demand we’re seeing right across the UK and the scale of our ambition as we continue to grow.”
He added: “We’re committed to growing in the right places, with the right teams, bringing our low prices and high-quality products to even more communities.”
