The Range has strengthened the technology behind its online marketplace, with the aim of supporting further ecommerce growth.

The retailer has moved its marketplace operation on to a new platform provided by Mirakl, replacing its previous in-house infrastructure with a more scalable system designed to support seller management, streamline operations and expand its digital offer.

Marketplace sales have become an increasingly important part of The Range’s online business. Third-party sellers now account for 45 per cent of online sales.

The Range said its website attracted more than 200 million visits in 2025, while product views rose 56 per cent year on year.

By upgrading the marketplace platform, The Range said it expects to improve seller onboarding, automate more workflows and strengthen performance monitoring, while making it easier to scale the proposition further.

CDS Superstores chief executive Alex Simpkin said: “Our marketplace has played an important role in expanding the choice we can offer customers online.

“Moving to Mirakl strengthens the technology behind that platform, giving us a more advanced and scalable system to support sellers, improve operational efficiency and continue growing our online offer.

“With more than 200 million visits to our website last year, this investment ensures we have the infrastructure in place to support continued ecommerce growth while delivering a better digital experience for customers.”

The transition follows a phased onboarding process completed in March and marks the latest step in The Range’s broader digital development, as parent company CDS Superstores continues to invest in ecommerce and AI capabilities.

Alongside the marketplace upgrade, CDS Superstores is also investing in Google Cloud technologies to improve online search, product discovery and personalisation.

The business said these initiatives are designed to help shoppers find products more quickly and easily across an increasingly large marketplace catalogue.

It said further enhancements are planned across personalisation, search, discovery and digital content as it continues to evolve its online offer alongside its national store estate.

The Range currently operates more than 280 stores across the UK and Republic of Ireland as part of CDS Superstores, which also owns Wilko, Homebase and Bathstore.
