Argos revives catalogue experience with new personalised app feature

EcommerceNews

Argos has launched a new mobile app feature designed to recreate the discovery-led experience of its former print catalogue for digital shoppers.

Its new ‘Your Catalogue’ service, which rolls out across its iOS and Android apps from 29 July, offers customers personalised product recommendations, curated trend edits, category lookbooks and new-arrival selections.

The feature adapts according to each user’s browsing activity, searches and saved products, with the content updating over time to reflect their individual interests.

Argos said the launch follows customer research that identified growing demand for more open-ended product discovery and editorial-style shopping inspiration, rather than purely transactional online journeys.

The tool also brings a digital twist to the traditional practice of circling products in the Argos catalogue, allowing shoppers to save items, create wishlists and compile mood boards for future purchases.

Unlike the Argos’ former printed catalogue, the app experience will be continually refreshed with new products, trending items and promotional offers.

Existing app users can access the feature by updating and opening the Argos app, while new customers can download it through the Apple App Store or Google Play.

Shoppers using ‘Your Catalogue’ will also be able to access the Argos’ fulfilment services, including Click & Collect from more than 1,100 locations and its same-day and next-day Fast Track delivery options.

Argos stopped producing its biannual printed catalogue in 2020, ending a run of almost 50 years as it shifted its focus towards online and mobile shopping.
