New Look has ordered staff across its buying, merchandising and design (BMD) department back into the office four days a week.
The team currently work three days in the office, the fashion retailer confirmed, and once the change comes into place from January, Friday will remain a hybrid day.
It said there are no changes to the number of days other teams will be required in office and claimed the move is in line with the wider sector.
New Look said bringing the BMD teams in four days allows the product facing team to work collaboratively, generate ideas, and respond quickly to trade patterns/trends.
At the start of the week, it was revealed via an internal email that Asda has asked staff to return to the office a minimum of three days per week alongside cutting job head office.
The supermarket’s changes will impact over 5,000 office staff members across three areas in Leeds and Leicester, effective from January.
In a message to staff, chairman Lord Rose explained the grocery giant was making office attendance compulsory at the George House site in Leicester and Asda House and Britannia House offices in Leeds, in a bid to strengthen Asda’s position for 2025.
