DIY and homeware retailer B&Q is set to launch a new trade-exclusive store format for its TradePoint brand, with the first standalone site set to open in Barking in March.

The business said its new concept is aimed exclusively at trade professionals and will offer a one-to-one service, extended opening hours, speedy collection and delivery options, as well as access to thousands of trade-focused products and services.

The Barking store will have a 32,000 sq ft sales area and stock more than 5,500 items available immediately, alongside an extended range of over 25,000 products for collection or delivery.

B&Q said the launch represents a significant investment and a key step in its ambition to make TradePoint a £1bn business. TradePoint has grown steadily in recent years and accounted for 22.4% of B&Q’s total sales in the first half of 2025.

“Growing TradePoint is a strategic priority for B&Q and we’re proud to be launching this new standalone B&Q TradePoint store concept to help make life easier for tradespeople and to help them grow their businesses,” said B&Q chief executive Graham Bell.

“Our ambition is to make TradePoint a £1bn business and as a key milestone in helping us to achieve that, we’re excited to be testing this new standalone store concept and to welcome tradespeople to the first store in this format at Barking in March.”
