New Look opens largest-ever concept store at Metrocentre

New Look today opened the doors to its largest-ever concept store at Metrocentre.

The 11,000 sq ft shop, located in the shopping centre’s Red Mall fashion hub, marks the latest step in New Look’s rollout of its omni-hub format, which brings together fashion, online services and ‘enhanced in-store experiences’.

New Look has traded at Metrocentre for more than 20 years, with the new store marking a fresh chapter for its presence at the Gateshead destination.

Customers will be able to shop an expanded range of womenswear, accessories and 915 teen products, alongside services including Click & Collect, self-service returns, order-in-store and digital browsing.

The store also features refreshed fitting rooms and showroom-style displays designed to make it easier for shoppers to move between New Look’s physical and online channels.

To mark the opening, New Look is offering goody bags to the first 200 customers who make a purchase, alongside surprise prizes hidden across the store, complimentary matcha drinks and a live DJ.

The launch follows previous New Look concept store openings at Bluewater, Lakeside and Milton Keynes as the retailer continues to reshape the role of its shops.

It also comes as New Look ramps up investment in digital, including the launch of Club New Look, its first loyalty programme, which has now surpassed one million members.

It said the Metrocentre opening forms part of its wider £30m investment in digital capabilities, as it looks to make shopping more personalised and convenient across stores and online.

New Look retail director Mark Matthews said: “Opening our largest-ever concept store is a proud moment for New Look and reflects how we’re continuing to reimagine the role our stores play for customers.

“This space showcases the very best of what our omni-hub format can offer, combining a wider fashion range with smarter services and digital features that make shopping simpler, more inspiring and more connected than ever before.

“We look forward to welcoming customers through the doors and celebrating this exciting new chapter at Metrocentre.”
