Luxury goods retailer Coach has named Joshua Schulman as its new president and chief executive.

Schulman will join the US-based global brand on June 5 and will be responsible for all aspects of Coach.

In his newly-created role, Schulman will report directly to Victor Luis, the chief executive officer of parent company Coach Inc.

Schulman joins Coash from the Neiman Marcus department store company, where he held the role of president of its Bergdorf Goodman arm.

Prior to that, he was chief executive at British luxury footwear brand Jimmy Choo and he has also held senior roles at Gap and Yves Saint Laurent.

“[Schulman] lives and breathes our industry and brings a unique blend of brand building and broad retail experience to the company, making him the ideal person for this newly created role,” Luis said.

Schulman said: “I look forward to working with the talented global teams at Coach to build on this transformation, driving growth and relevance for the iconic brand across product categories, channels and geographies.”

Stuart Vevers, who hails from the UK, is currently Coach‘s creative director.

Coach trades in the UK with several stores in London and in deparrment store concessions around the UK.

It recently opened its first non-London stores in Leeds and will soon debut in Birmingham.
