Two of Tesco‘s ready-made chicken salads have been recalled over dangers that they contain bacteria that cause food poisoning.
The UK‘s largest grocer has warned shoppers that 160g packs of “Tesco chicken salad” and 315g packs of “Tesco chicken, broccoli, almond and cashew nut salad” with a use-by date of July 12 and 13 should not be eaten and returned to shops immediately.
The products are thought to contain campylobacter, which according to the Food Standards Agency is the most common cause of food poisoning, leading to fever, diarrhoea and cramps.

“Tesco apologises to our customers for any inconvenience caused,” the retailer said.

Recently its main rival Sainsbury‘s was forced to recall some sandwich filler products over fears they contained the dangerous bacteria listeria.
Last month Mars also recalled a range of its Galaxy and Minstrels products.
