Global Blue has announced plans to open its first VIP lounge in London later this month.
The 2600sq ft lounge, located on Abermarle Street in Mayfair, will invite international high network individuals to shop and relax, while receiving a tax refund on their shopping.
The tax-free shopping company said it expected to welcome more than 3500 shoppers to the new London VIP lounge in its first month.
According to the latest data from Global Blue, August is one of the UK’s strongest months for international spend – in 2017, this grew by seven per cent year-on-year and by 16 per cent among Chinese shoppers.
The London lounge will also be Global Blue’s second largest and features five multilingual experts and four rooms that offer a variety of marketing and multichannel retail opportunities.
Other merchants confirmed to collaborate with the London Lounge in 2018 include MaxMara, Aquazzura, Fortnum & Mason and Longchamp.
Fortnum & Mason will be delivering a quintessential British tea experience while MaxMara is taking over an entire room for the launch of the lounge.

“We are very much looking forward to delivering this exciting initiative in August, which will further boost the appeal of London to affluent Globe shoppers.”
Global Blue;s other VIP Lounges are located in Milan, Rome, Venice, Madrid, Munich and Paris.
