Arket makes regional debut in Birmingham Bullring

Arket has officially opened its first store in the West Midlands within the Bullring shopping centre in Birmingham.

The H&M-owned fashion retailer’s new 13,000sq ft regional flagship is located on Bullring’s upper level and stocks the brand’s full men, women, children and lifestyle collections, and features a Nordic-inspired café.

The new store forms part of H&M’s ambitious plans to expand Arket throughout the UK and mainland Europe.

The first-ever store opened in London’s Regent Street just over a year ago in August 2017, and since then it has expanded to Covent Garden and Westfield Stratford, as well as Bluewater shopping centre in Kent and Liverpool One.

Arket has also opened several shops in Sweden, Germany, Denmark, Belgium and The Netherlands.

The new Birmingham store comes after the Bullring welcomed Hugo Boss’ first Hugo fascia outside of London and second in the UK.

“It is a significant achievement for Bullring, as well as Birmingham, that Arket selected the centre for continued expansion across the UK,” said Iain Mitchell, commercial director at Hammerson, which operates the Bullring.

“Arket is a fantastic flagship addition to our leading aspirational fashion line-up. I am confident the unique offer will be extremely popular with our shoppers.”

Bullring recently celebrated its 15th birthday and is now one of Europe’s most successful retail destinations with footfall of over 36 million a year.
