Whistles has returned to profit after it booked a healthy sales rise in its annual report.

In the year running up to March 2018, the fashion retailer saw sales climb up by 16.1 per cent to £68.5 million.

Whistles also turned its loss of £1.6 million into a profit of £5 million due to successful the sales numbers and its decision to remove loss-making outlets, as well as reducing costs.

Meanwhile, online sales rose by 28 per cent during the period, which was accelerated by Whistles’ official website as well as ecommerce partnerships with Asos and Zalando.

Whistles operates 45 standalone stores and 79 concessions in John Lewis, Harvey Nichols, Selfridges, Fenwick and House of Fraser.

Whistles is owned by TFG Brands London, which is part of The Foschini Group.
