Halfords has added a new non-executive director to its board, with former Moss Boss finance director Tom Singer taking up the post.

Singer’s stint at Moss Bros was between 1997 and 2000, but more recently he was InterContinental chief financial officer and Bupa group finance director.

He has also had a stint with William Hill as its chief financial officer and chief operating officer.

He is currently a non-executive director at Mediclinic International and DP Eurasia.

Singer will join the Halfords board on September 16.

He is also slated to become a member of the remuneration, audit and nomination committees and will replace David Adams as chair of the audit committee after a handover period.

“David is a highly regarded non-executive director and we have benefited greatly from his considerable efforts since he joined the board, initially as a director and more recently in his additional roles as chair of the audit committee and as senior independent director,” Halfords chairman Keith Williams said.

“We are grateful to David for the work he has done in these roles.

“Moving forward, we are delighted to welcome Tom to the board. We are sure that he will contribute greatly to the ongoing success of Halfords.”
