Next appoints a new non-executive director

Next has raised its full-year profit outlook for the fourth time in six months as it reported a 5.9% rise in first-half profits.ext has appointed Soumen Das as an independent non-executive director with effect immediately.
Next has benefitted from strong trading since Covid restrictions were lifted.

Fashion and homewares retailer Next has appointed Soumen Das as a non-executive director with immediate effect.

“His appointment will strengthen the board’s knowledge and experience of the UK property and capital markets after Francis Salway stepped down from our Board in May of this year,” Next said in a statement.

Das is currently working as chief financial Officer of UK and European real estate investment trust SEGRO.

With over eleven years’ board level experience with listed companies, his prior roles include managing director and chief financial officer of Capital & Counties Properties and he was also previously an executive director of UBS within the investment bank.

Das has also become a member of Next’s nomination, audit and remuneration committees.
