DIY retailer Topps Tiles has today announced the expansion of its UK store portfolio as it rebrands 12 of its Tile Clearing House (TCH) stores to clearance outlets.

Located across the country from Wigan to Plymouth, the dozen stores are in close proximity to existing Topps Tiles stores as it is hoped that the conversion will “maximise the benefits of the Topps Tiles brand”, the retailer said.

Offering a value-focused product range, Topps Tiles Clearance also provides discounted ranges at reduced rates though the retailer said that Buyers are identifying new product lines which can be sampled within stores to gauge demand ahead of a wider roll-out.

Such changes follow a three-year conversion plan which has seen more than 30 TCH stores become Topps Tiles outlets and a dozen to the Topps Tiles Clearance brand in areas where Topps Tiles stores already traded.

Bringing the total number of Topps Tiles stores to 320, the rebrand has also driven an increase in the retailer‘s national and local market share in each town and hopes to boost the brand‘s profile across the country.

Commenting on the move, Topps Tiles‘ CEO Matt Williams said: “Our experience of the brand conversions has been very positive and we see the benefit of having our whole business aligned behind the Topps Tiles brand.

“This initiative will help us to deliver our goal of taking market share and I am delighted that as we move forwards all colleagues can feel part of one team and part of one brand.”
