Ladies fashion retailer Hobbs has announced a move into the US market with the opening of five concessions within selected Bloomingdale‘s stores in New York, Boston, King of Prussia in Pennsylvania, Hackensack in New Jersey and McLean in Virginia.

The collection will epitomise the British brand‘s heritage and will consist of luxury fabrics, modern tailoring and elegant daywear, showcasing an exclusive edit of the Hobbs collection selected for US customers.

Nicky Dulieu, CEO at Hobbs expressed the “significant growth potential” of the move, which follows Hobbs‘ recent launch of local content website for Germany, the US and Australia, and marks an important stage in the 33 year old brand‘s international development, taking the number of Hobbs stores to over 140 worldwide including franchise stores in Sweden and the UAE.

Frank Doroff, Vice Chairman of RTW Bloomingdale‘s also remarked upon his excitement at the partnership, with Hobbs joining other British designers in store including All Saints, Lipsy and Reiss.

Dulieu is to step down from Hobbs in the spring after five years at the company, but plans to remain as a non-executive director.
